Former KADAMAY Groups in Pandi, Bulacan Undergo Livelihood Seminar

The Samahan ng Malayang Kapatiran Para sa Kapayapaan ng Bayan (SAMAKKA) and Pagkakaisa ng Mamamayan Tungo sa Kaunlaran (PMTK) in Pandi, Bulacan composed of former members of the Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (KADAMAY), underwent a one-day Cooperative Pre-Registration Seminar at Barangay Siling Bata, Pandi, Bulacan on April 24, 2022.

Inspired by their will to uplift their livelihood condition, the SAMAKKA and PMTK were offered of a new opportunity through cooperative development. The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region III introduced the Cooperative Pre-Registration Seminar to 40 individuals from these prospective cooperative organizations to capacitate them to engage in a Micro-Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Mr. Francis Mangaco, Cooperative Development Specialist III, CDA 3, who delivered the lecture, stated that the Pre-Registration Seminar for Cooperatives is being conducted in fulfillment of the mandate in Section 15, Article XII of the Constitution, which states the declared state policy “To promote the viability and growth of cooperatives as instruments of equity, social justice, and economic development.”

Mangaco also urged the organizations to submit the registration requirements for their consumer cooperatives as soon as possible, assuring members that the CDA would refer them to appropriate government agencies that could assist and support their cooperative.

Meanwhile, SAMAKKA Chairperson Lolita “Ka Lolit” De Jesus stated that they have been encouraged and convinced of the benefits of forming a cooperative, and they have approached the relevant government agencies for assistance.

“This cooperative pre-registration seminar is important to us because the SAMAKKA will be opening a consumer cooperative in the form of a water refilling station on April 25, 2022, and this seminar will prepare us to manage our cooperative,” said Lolita “Ka Lolit” De Jesus.

Further, the groups will be receiving certificates of completion to be awarded during the inauguration of the SAMAKKA’s water refilling station on April 25, 2022, at Villa Lois, Siling Bata, Pandi, Bulacan.

The activity was successfully conducted in collaboration with the 1st Civil Relations Group, CRSAFP, 70 Infantry Battalion, 7ID, PA, and the Pandi Municipal Police Station.

The SAMAKKA was organized after 451 members of the KADAMAY led by Ka Lolit severed ties from the latter in October 2020, while PMTK, headed by Racquel Escol was established in October 2018.#
